RequestSheet (“RequestSheet,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates https://requestsheet.com (the “Site”), a platform that allows disc jockeys (“DJs”) to receive song requests and related submissions from members of the public (“Fans”). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information and Commercial Information we receive from users of the Site.
We use your Personal Information and Commercial Information to provide and improve our services. By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Depending on how you use the Site, we may collect the following:
We use the information we collect to: provide, operate, and maintain the Site; create and manage accounts; process song requests, bookings, and payments; protect against spam, fraud, and abuse; communicate with you about your account and our services; and improve the Site. We will not use Personal Information or Commercial Information for a purpose materially different from the purpose for which it was collected without your consent.
When a Fan submits a song request or booking inquiry to a particular DJ, the information in that submission — including the Fan’s name, message, and email address if provided — is made available to that DJ so the DJ can manage and respond to requests. A DJ may use email addresses collected through their own requests to contact the Fans who submitted them (for example, with updates or promotional messages relating to that DJ). RequestSheet does not sell this information, and does not share it with unrelated third parties. If you submit a request to a DJ and later wish to be removed from that DJ’s contact list, please contact that DJ or contact us at support@requestsheet.com.
Your Personal Information may be passed to a third-party payment gateway for the purpose of completing a transaction to purchase our services. RequestSheet has partnered with Stripe to handle one-off and subscription payments. Stripe’s handling of your information is governed by Stripe’s own Privacy Policy, which we encourage you to review.
We rely on certain third-party service providers to operate the Site, including a payment processor (Stripe), our web hosting provider, and an email delivery service. These providers process information only as necessary to perform services for us.
In addition, when a Fan searches for a song in the request form, the search and the resulting album artwork and track details are retrieved directly from a third-party music service (Apple Music / iTunes). As a result, that service may receive the search terms and standard technical information (such as an IP address) at the time of the search. The Site may also display links to third-party services chosen by a DJ (such as PayPal, Venmo, or Cash App for tips). RequestSheet does not control, and is not responsible for, the privacy practices of these third-party services, and we encourage you to review their policies.
We will not disclose or sell an individual’s Personal Information or Commercial Information to unrelated third parties under any circumstances, unless the prior written consent of the individual is obtained. We may disclose information where required to do so by law, to comply with legal process, to enforce our Terms and Conditions, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of RequestSheet, our users, or others.
Cookies are small files containing data, which may include an anonymous unique identifier, sent to your browser from a website and stored on your device. We use cookies and similar technologies — including a session cookie that keeps you logged in — to operate the Site. You can instruct your browser to refuse cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent; however, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of the Site.
We may use your Personal Information to contact you with information required for the provision of our services, and, where permitted, with newsletters, marketing, or promotional materials. You may opt out of non-essential marketing communications at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions in those messages or by contacting us.
We retain Personal Information and Commercial Information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. If you cancel your subscription, your account will remain active for the period you have paid for, after which your account will be closed and your associated data permanently removed from our servers. You may also delete your account and associated data at any time through your account settings page. If you wish to have data removed, you may contact us at support@requestsheet.com.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the Personal Information we hold about you. DJs can review and update much of their account information directly through the account settings page. To make any other request regarding your information, contact us at support@requestsheet.com. We will respond to legitimate requests within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable law.
The security of your Personal Information and Commercial Information is important to us, and we take every reasonable measure to keep your data secure. We use industry-standard encryption (SSL/TLS) to protect information transmitted to and from the Site, and account passwords are stored in hashed form rather than as plain text. Despite this, the security of online transactions and communications sent by electronic means cannot be guaranteed, and each user who provides information to us via the internet does so at their own risk.
We cannot accept responsibility for misuse or loss of, or unauthorized access to, Personal Information or Commercial Information where the security of that information is not within our control. If you suspect any misuse or loss of, or unauthorized access to, your Personal Information or Commercial Information, please let us know immediately.
The Site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us with Personal Information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
This Privacy Policy is effective as of the “Last updated” date above and will remain in effect except with respect to any future changes, which will be effective immediately after being posted on this page. We reserve the right to update or change this Privacy Policy at any time, and you should review it periodically. Your continued use of the Site after we post any modifications constitutes your acknowledgment of those modifications and your agreement to be bound by the updated Privacy Policy. If we make any material changes, we will notify you either through the email address you have provided or by placing a prominent notice on the Site.
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, please contact us at support@requestsheet.com.
